Spring Beauties
Spring Beauties was inspired by the small wildflowers we see in early spring. Patches of them are in the woods behind our farmhouse in West Virginia. This ballad was written to have a delicate beauty and a touch of pensiveness. Recorded by Tom Puwalski, soprano saxophone, and Julius Fischer, piano.
The latest recording of Spring Beauties is by guitarist James Barr. This recording is a good example of how I encourage musicians performing my work to find their own vision of the music. James' recording is distinctly different from the one by Tom & Julius. I like both of them equally well.
