Music For Video

For those interested in using my recordings in a video project, an easy way to do it is purchase a music license online through Zudo Music.

Zudo license rates for videos:

Home / Personal Video $39
Web Video (Youtube, Vimeo, etc.) $59
Wedding Video $79

The
Music Licensing page has a link to my artist page at Zudo Music. There, listen to my recordings in the Zudo catalog and find one that is a match for your project.

The following video demonstrates how quick it is to select music, purchase a music license, and download a recording through the Zudo website. There is a sliding scale of rates for a wide range of visual media projects.

See Music For Video and FAQs for more information.

Zudo can also license my music for ads (small business, crowdfunding, not-for-profit), games (video games, mobile apps), TV (web or network), and film (indie or studio).

Directional Music Update

I signed an exclusive agreement for music licensing today with Directional Music, an innovative production music company in New York City. The exclusive agreement will give DM a greater amount of leverage to find placements for my music with larger film & TV companies. I am excited about this new direction for my work.

See the Music Licensing page for details.

PARMA Licensing

I decided to terminate my music licensing agreement with PARMA Licensing and focus on having my recordings at Directional Music and Zudo Music.

PARMA discovered my music in 2011 and offered me a non-exclusive agreement. The terms were quite good. I signed the agreement and 28 of my recordings were added to PARMA's catalog of pre-cleared production music.

After having my music at PARMA for four years, I decided to branch out with additional music licensing companies in 2015. My music was accepted by Directional Music and Zudo. At the time, I thought it was best to have non-exclusive agreements. However, several months ago I began to consider the pros & cons of switching to exclusive agreements with Directional Music and Zudo. Deciding to go exclusive, I terminated my 2011 agreement with PARMA in May.

I have a good feeling about the pending exclusive agreements. It is my understanding that many of the larger film & TV companies are now focusing more on exclusive agreement music. It is my hope that this new direction for my music will result in high quality music placements.

Of the 40 recordings I am currently using for music licensing, 23 are at Zudo and 17 are at Directional Music. More recordings will be added over time to both catalogs. See the Music Licensing page for details.

Directional Music, a production music company based in New York City, selected 17 of my recordings for their production music catalog. This is an exciting step toward having my music used in film, TV, video, and other media. I will update my music licensing page to have information about Directional Music when my recordings have been added to their website.

Zudo  Music

I officially joined the Zudo Music team! I have been looking for a music licensing company that is a good match for my music. In particular, I have envisioned a smaller or "boutique" company where my work will be appreciated for its quirkiness and stylistic range. In talking with J. Galenti and hearing his vision, it seems to me that we have a match.

Zudo's non-exclusive agreement is straight-forward and the prices for their 12 types of music licenses -- from a wedding video up to a studio feature film -- are reasonable. Happily, all of the recordings that I submitted to Zudo have been accepted for their catalog.

Zudo Music, based in Santa Fe, is a new production music licensing company. It will be launched this summer. I am excited to be on the ground floor with this venture.

Seeking Music Placements

5/2/2015

One of my goals for this year is to focus more on music licensing. Composing for film or TV does not interest me. However, several composer friends told me how my originals could do well as placement music in film, TV, theater, etc. That inspired me to explore this new direction. If some of my tracks can receive placements, the money will help to fund new recordings of my music and enable it to be heard.

See the Music Licensing page for details.
