Today's Featured Music
Connecticut Avenue SUVs = shifting time funk! The title expresses my disdain for contending with monster SUVs when driving on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, DC. This piece is a minimalist composition -- the melody is only 16 bars. However, it has expanded improvisation concepts for the soloist and the ensemble. Recorded by Jason Shapiro, soprano saxophone; E. Shawn Qaissaunee, guitar; Brian Howell, bass; Skip Rohrich, drums; and David Arivett, horn section.
Welcome to my site
Think of my site as a performance center where people from many countries can listen to this music. A variety of groups are performing, from solo guitar to a large wind ensemble, and there are different kinds of music to explore. Maryland and West Virginia
Nancy and I divide our time between Olney, Maryland and Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. This area, with the Appalachian Mountains and Chesapeake Bay, is a deep source of inspiration for my music. The Morgan County page has a sample of my WV-inspired projects, links to some of our creative friends in the Berkeley Springs area, and a video about our farmhouse.
